Alamo Austria Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2010 and 31-Dec-2012

Payment
An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured at the time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard (transaction fee of 1.75% applies).

The balance will be secured directly by the supplier on arrival.

Additional Driver Policy
Additional Driver charge is EUR 3.75 + tax per day.  There is no maximum number of additional driver's allowed per rental. 
Same conditions apply as per the main driver.

Age Requirements
The minimum age is 19 years for all cars.  There is no maximum age.
A young driver’s charge of EUR 5.00 + tax per day applies to 19 - 21 year olds.

Condition of Vehicle
Vehicle must be returned, normal wear & tear expected, in the same condition as when rented. If special cleaning is required a separate charge will be made directly to the customer

Cross Border Policy
Cross border is allowed into: Andora, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland & United Kingdom.
Car groups: EDMR, CDMR, IDMR, CWMR, CDAR, SDMR & IWMR are the only cars permitted to be driven into Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Estonia, Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Serbia & Montenegro, and additional insurance is required for cross border into these countries - the price depends on the number of rental days and car group but ranges from EUR 8.00 + tax to EUR 55.00 + tax per day (see separate cross border doc for details).
A cross border fee of EUR 35.00 + tax applies for cross border into: Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Slovakia.  For cross border into Greece, there is generally no charge, unless driving through Slovakia, Hungary etc when the cross border fee will apply. The cross border fee is a one off per rental agreement to be able to drive into multi countries.
An allowance stamp on the rental agreement is required if crossing the border into any of the following countries: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovakia & Slovenia.
It is forbidden to drive into: Albania, Belarus, Cyprus, Iran, Latvia, Lithuania, Morocco, Moldova, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey & Ukraine.
All fees regarding cross border will be paid locally.
Police reports are mandatory in case of an accident.
Please be advised that the following areas in Germany: Berlin, Cologne and Hannover will require an 'Emissions Sticker' stating the emission of the vehicle intended to enter these areas. Without this sticker, the driver of the vehicle will be fined up to EUR 40.00 even if the car is registered abroad. Should the car not have the 'Emissions Sticker', then this can be purchased at most garages.
Please be advised that due to a change in law in Germany, it is mandatory for all vehicles crossing the border into Germany to have winter tyres fitted during the Snow & Icy conditions. Customers will be fined on the spot if they are stopped by police and found to not have the appropriate winter tyres.

License Requirements
A full driver’s license must have been held for a minimum of one year for all drivers.
An international driver’s permit is required.

One Way Rentals
Domestic one ways are allowed between all locations free of charge and is available for all cars.
International one ways are permitted - please refer to the IOWP grid.

Out of Hours Policy
After Hours are on request and cost EUR 45.00 + tax per rental.

Payment Policy
All major Credit cards (Visa, Amex, Diners & MasterCard) are accepted as well as National charge cards & National Vouchers.
Cash and electronic debit cards e.g. Visa Electronic are not accepted.
A deposit is required as follows:
For credit card payments: (minimum) estimated rental amount, 1 damage excess charge acc agreement, 1 full tank (all inc tax).
If CDW is declined: (minimum) estimated rental amount, 1 theft excess charge acc agreement, 1 full tank (all inc tax).
A credit card is always required for deposits.  The deposit is held on the credit card until the car is returned.

Refuelling Policy
In case the customer does not return the car with a full tank, they are charged as follows:
EUR 2.45 + tax per liter for Diesel and EUR 2.35 + tax per liter for leaded/unleaded.
Please note that these prices are correct as of 1st Sept 08, but are subject to change.
Pre-paid options are available on request.

Special Equipment
Infant Seat - CSI - (0-12 Months/0-13 kg) - EUR 25.00 + tax per rental.  Replacement amount (deposit): EUR 180.00 + tax (EUR 216.00 inc tax).
Baby Seat - CSB - (1-3 years/9-18 kg) - EUR 25.00 + tax per rental.  Replacement amount (deposit): EUR 180.00 + tax (EUR 216.00 inc tax).
Toddler Seat - CST - (4-7 years/15-30 kg) - EUR 25.00 + tax per rental.  Replacement amount (deposit): EUR 180.00 + tax (EUR 216.00 inc tax).
Ski Rack – Not available.
Snow Chains - SNO - EUR 25.00 + tax per rental.  Replacement amount (deposit): EUR 180.00 + tax (EUR 216.00 inc tax).
Navigation System - NVS - EUR 6.67 + tax per day with a maximum charge of EUR 400.00 + tax per rental.  Replacement amount (deposit): EUR 400.00 + tax (EUR 480.00 inc tax).
All equipment is on request and is available at all locations and for all cars groups.

Surcharges
Airport Surcharge: 17% + tax
Contract Fee: 1% additional tax added to the Total Rental Estimate if greater than 150 Euro (Incl. Tax).
Winter Fee: EUR 3.50 + tax per day - applicable from 15th October to 15th April (includes winter tires and an ice scrapper).

Insurances & Waivers: (Please check your rate sheet as some insurances may be included in your rates)
LDW – Loss Damage Waiver
Loss damage waiver includes CDW and Theft protection and reduces the customer’s damage responsibility to the excess/deductible amount.  If LDW is applied to the rental the customer is still responsible for the mandatory excess charge in case of damage/loss.  If LDW is declined the renter will be liable for the entire value of the damage/loss.  All prices exclude tax.

SCDW – Super Collision Damage Waiver
Further reduces or eliminates the client’s responsibility for payment of the excess in case of damage only (does not cover theft).  Only available if LDW has been purchased first.  All prices exclude tax.

Third Party Liability
Third Party Liability provides limited coverage of up to EUR 15,000,000 for bodily Injury and/or death and damage to third party property. TPL is included in the rate

Liability

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
